RE: Band Camp Memo and Packing List
Distributed: May 12, 2008
On Sunday July 27 at 12:00 noon we will have a brief parent meeting then load to go to Urbana University for Band Camp. Students should expect luggage to be checked by a booster parent of the same gender before it is loaded. We will return by 5:00pm on Friday Aug. 1. Urbana is a great place to have a band camp (yes the dorms are air conditioned). The purpose of camp is to learn marching fundamentals and as much of this years show as possible (you will make friends and have fun too). I’m sure we will have a great experience at Urbana this year. Camp is required for all marching band members.
Remember that all school rules apply at all times while we are at camp or en route. Failure to follow the rules will result in disciplinary action. If the violation is severe enough parents will be called and the students may be removed from camp with further disciplinary action to take place when we return, if necessary law enforcement officials will be called in to remove unruly students. This is not a threat but a promise to have a positive learning environment for students.
At summer rehearsals we will send home a camp schedule and maps to the University.
All emergency medical forms must be turned in before we leave.
All Fees must be turned in before we leave.
In case of an emergency you can call campus safety at 937-484-1111. They will know where we are at all times.
