Band Bucks from Miami Football Concessions 2009
The Band Boosters will again work a concession tent at all Miami University home football games, plus perhaps a few extra events later in the year. Your child or grandchild will get credited into her/his Band Bucks account with 40% of what the Band Boosters earn. The balance goes into the Band Booster treasurery for the many band expenses we pay through the year. MIami normally pays us in early February of this coming spring.
Game dates are:
October 3 Saturday
October 24 Saturday
October 31 Saturday
November 12 Thursday (No MS students for this, please)
November 18 Wednesday (No MS students for this, please)
You arrive three hours before kickoff and finish about one hour after the game is over. You need to plan to be there for the entire gig. Although we are often released not long after half-time is over, we can't plan on that for sure. If we park at Yaeger, we must pay Miami parking; otherwise we can park for free at the old WalMart lot and take a free shuttle to Yaeger. It STOPS running just before the game starts and resumes after the game ends. It does NOT run during the game. Car pooling also works well.
We prepare light vendor food and sell it to the fans from the tent. It’s important to be able to be on your feet for a number of hours.
We need volunteers who will firmly be there for specific games, not necessarily all. (We get a massive financial penalty for the ENTIRE year if we are ever short on staff in the tent). This is open to MS & High School band members, band parents, band grandparents, and other family members.
Contact Rob Cook with questions or to volunteer. Although it's a good problem, please don't simply show up at the tent without being scheduled by Rob. We can't use too many volunteers either. Other MU events may come up through the year and I'll post them on this site, if Miami gives us enough advance notice.
