The Talawanda Band Boosters would like to take this opportunity to invite ALL BAND PARENTS to get involved. The Band Booster organization is open to every parent or guardian of Talawanda District band members; it is not something you have to JOIN…it is something you ARE when you have a student in the band!! The purpose of this organization is to boost the overall spirit and increase the organizational efficiency of the Talawanda District Bands by providing administrative support to the band directors, promoting greater participation by the parents in all band activities, bringing about a closer relationship and understanding between all district band programs and community at large, initiating fundraising activities to provide additional financial support for the Talawanda District Bands, and developing and maintaining gift money and endowment funds. The officers of this organization make up the executive board; they meet on the first Tuesday of each month at Talawanda High School. We would like to remind you that our Board meetings are open to every Band Booster and we encourage your attendance and participation.

Mission Statement

• The Mission of the Talawanda Band Boosters is to provide financial, moral and physical support to the Band Programs at the High School and Middle School in order to make the Band programs an educational, rewarding and fulfilling experience for everyone involved.
• The Band Programs rely on Band Boosters to volunteer their time, creativity, flexibility and financial resources as a major contributor to their continued success.

Budget

One of the main functions of the Band Booster Organization is to administer the annual budget. The Band Booster Budget is $45,000 per year, and since we get little funding from the school for our operating expenses that $45,000 must be raised by our organization. It is critical that every student get involved with the fundraising activities that are planned. The money raised by these fundraisers goes directly into the Band budget. Please help your student support these fundraisers.

About the Band Boosters

• Who are the band boosters? You are a Booster if you have a child in any of the High School or Middle School Bands or you subscribe to the purposes of the Boosters.
• The Boosters work throughout the year to raise money to provide the things essential to the bands that are not provided by the school. The annual budget is over $45,000. Some of the accomplishments of the Band Boosters are: capital campaigns for new uniforms, the most recent raised over $40,000. Provide funds for the repair and purchase of instruments; additional instructors and clinicians to help students improve their music skills; musical arrangements, props and drills for the marching band shows. Other accomplishments include providing chaperones for band camp and buses for football games and competitions, auxiliary uniforms and flags, electric fans for the band room. The Spirit Committee provides encouragement each week by decorating individual lockers, the band room and making goodie bags for all bus trips. The Pit Crew provides transportation of the instruments, props and stands to away football games and competitions. The TMBI (Talawanda Marching Braves Invitational) committee organizes and runs the event. This event showcases our school and band to the rest of the community. It also is a major fund raiser. The list of contributions by the Boosters is almost endless.
• The Band Booster Board works very closely with both band directors with the planning and implementation of the years activities. The officers of the band board are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Middle School Liaison, TMBI Chairperson, and Director of Public Relations. Each serves a two year term.
• Who are the Band Boosters? As you can see, we are a group of very dedicated parents who tirelessly donate our time and resources for betterment of our children's band experience. Please join us in our quest, become a participating Booster.
